The SmokeJumper GMT Worldtime, the official timepiece of the National Smokejumper Association, is the successor to our introductory timepiece, the SmokeJumper Chronograph. The SmokeJumper GMT was inspired by America’s airborne firefighters of the National Smokejumper Association – those who risk it all to preserve life, save property, and protect our national forests.

Unlike its predecessor, the Smokejumper GMT Worldtime comes in two different dial colors, both silver and black and uses enamel and super luminescent differently to accent the functions on each of the dials.  The GMT, or second time zone function, especially valuable to travelers since the second time function can maintain the time in a commonly visited city, state or country is simple to read and understand.  In addition, the company has added a world time function on a secondary, sloped bezel located under the crystal which has each of the 24 cities that represent the 24 different world time zones. This bezel can be turned individually with a second crown located at the 10 o’clock position.  It simply allows an individual to tell what time it is anywhere in the world based on matching the 24 hour hand to the city that they have set as the watch’s second time zone. 

Engraved on the back of the case is the logo of the National Smokejumper Association. Each ‘production-purchased’ SmokeJumper will be delivered with both a stainless steel bracelet and a hand-stitched saddle leather strap made of the same saddle leather found in our Bozeman Dry Goods line of leather luggage, and sewn according to the code of the saddlemaker right here in Bozeman, Montana.

The launch of the Bozeman Watch Company in 2005 would not have been as successful as it was without the deep relationship between the BWC and the Missoula, Motanan-based NSA. The SmokeJumper Chronograph launched the company’s quick success and placed the BWC at the forefront of the American watch manufacturing industry. To date, the Bozeman Watch Company has returned over $12,000 to the organization in support of its efforts fighting fires throughout the American West and we look forward to many more years’ collaboration. We are an original watch manufacturer based in Bozeman, Montana USA.  Our Bozeman Watch Company original timepieces are sold exclusively through our company showrooms in Bozeman, Montana and Whitefish Montana. Our newest retail expansion our Jackson Hole Wyoming showroom,  will be open in the summer of 2011.  The Bozeman retail store and Whitefish retail store location showcase all mechanical watch models and information on our upcoming Montana watch collection.   These hand made watches are as rugged and refined as they are rare.  Each piece is developed first as a pencil illustration, then as the concept advances, engineering of the parts and watch data furthers the concept and soon follows the final 3 dimensional product images, ready for part prototyping and tooling in preparation of final manufacturing and assembly.  The exquisite mechanical movements in each model are built to specification during the design process which are made and assembled over a period of 18 to 25 months depending on complexity and modification.  These specialty movements are built by some of finest movement makers in the world. 

All models, which are limited from 10 to 150 individually, numbered pieces, are certified Chronometers by the Geneva, Switzerland based COSC (Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres).  Each movement that is built for Bozeman Watches undergoes 15 days of rigorous accuracy testing and regulation to gauranteed to be in tthe top 3% accuracy and the highest standards in the watch manufacturing industry today. The end result is timepieces with tried and tested mechanical watch expertise combined with the innovative spirit of American Watch making.
